A masseria (farm) turned luxury hotel, I found myself immediately transported into a realm of tranquility and beauty, the perfect escape from the city buzz and siren-soaring streets of London.
This beautiful haven exceeded every expectation that I knew would make for a truly unforgettable birthday getaway. I had picked the perfect location, with heat reaching highs of mid-30s, that many would hate, felt like the perfect compromise for the grey-skies and misery I had just left behind 3 hours prior.
From the moment I arrived at Hotel Masseria San Paolo Grande, I was enveloped in a sense of calm. The drive up to the hotel was a prelude to the experience that awaited me - rolling countryside, olive groves, and the stunning views of the Italian landscape. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth, offering a welcome drink upon arrival and a heartfelt hotel tour that set the tone for my stay.
The Masseria itself is a stunning example of traditional Puglian architecture. Dating back to the 16th century, it has been lovingly restored to blend historical charm with modern comforts. The stone walls, rustic wooden beams, and expansive grounds create an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

With that being said, my time at the Masseria whisked by. What felt like the longest and shortest trip of my life, I naturally found myself yearning to stay another week.
